Do we need to say any more? Yes, yes we do! What a wonderful accomplishment! The girls played great, stayed focused, and Coach Donahoo exemplified the phrase, "Grace under pressure." Outstanding job by everyone involved! All Tournament Team members selected were: Anna McRae, Chelsea Wintzinger, and Lauren Wintzinger (voted MVP). Every one of the girls are champions on the court and in our hearts! Thank you girls and Coach Donahoo for all of your efforts this season!

Currently HHS Varsity's Win/Loss Record for the 2007 season is 53-9 as of November 2, 2007. Great Job Girls!

HHS won the Sub-State Match #6 against Oak Mountain on October 25. Winning 3 games with the scores of 25-9, 25-13, 25-12, HHS continues to the Elite 8 State Tournament in Pelham next week. Great job girls and Coach Donahoo! Our hearts are with each of you!

Congratulations to the HHS Lady Panthers on their great work at the Area 15 Tournament on Tuesday, October 16. HHS defeated Hazel Green (25-18, 25-17, 25-12) then went on to play Grissom in the Final Area 15 match. HHS came out of Area 15 as runner up (25-22, 19-25, 25-18, 16-25, 7-15) with Grissom taking the 1st place honors in a hard fought victory. Congratulations to the HHS All Area 15 Team Members: Quita Williams, Lauren Wintzinger, Anna McRae, and Chelsea Wintzinger. Other All Area 15 Team members were: Leanna King (GHS), Courtney May (GHS), Naomi Wells (GHS), McKenzie Wilson (GHS), Jordan Corder (Hazel Green), Chelsi Carter (Hazel Green), Jordan Owens (Hazel Green), and Amanda Wells (Buckhorn). Congratulations to everyone on a great season!

Congratulations on a victory well earned over the weekend at Homewood's Blalock Tournament!

The final session of the season's City Varsity Round Robin was hosted by HHS on Tuesday, October 9. Only three of the participating schools attended, HHS, Grissom and Lee. But it was volleyball, and it was good! HHS beat Grissom on the 9th. Since Grissom had won a round robin match against HHS earlier in the season, HHS and Grissom will share this season's title as city champs! Also, congratulations to our graduating seniors who were recognized at the match last night: Alex Dukeman, Haley Findley, Kaitlyn Terry, Allie Ware, Quita Williams, Lauren Wintzinger.

What an exciting evening for our JV players! The girls played hard winning our first match against Lee with scores of 25-14 and 25-8. They played Bob Jones very well winning in two games with scores of 25-21 ad 26-24. On to the final match with Grissom, our JV girls played hard, played smart, and have every reason to be proud of their 2nd place finish with their 3 game scores of 14-25, 26-24, and 14-16. GOOD JOB JV TEAM! Great season!

Congratulations to the HHS 23rd Annual Sherry Ammons Iron Man Tournament champions -- Grissom High School. They played an amazing final match against the tournament runner up -- Bob Jones High School. Also, many, many thanks to the efforts of HHS' amazing JV team, the HHS Volleyball Team parents, the HHS custodians, and the AHSAA referees for their hard work at the tournament this weekend. We look forward to hosting the 24th Annual Sherry Ammons Tournament in 2008!
