Overall, a great season ladies!!! Congratulations to Chelsea Wintzinger for being named to the All-Tournament Team. Many, many thanks to everyone that has supported our volleyball team this season! The girls really appreciate your support throughout the season, and they very much appreciated your attendance at the State Tournament.

AHSAA 3 of 5 Game Requirement Met on October 8, 2008

Many high school teams across Alabama were shuffling this week to meet AHSAA rules for Area Tournament seeding. AHSAA requires matches between Area teams be the best 3 of 5 games for Area matches. All previous Area 16 matches had been played as the best 2 of 3 games. To fulfill the AHSAA requirement, Huntsville High School hosted matches with Hazel Green and Grissom on October 8th. Buckhorn was unable to attend due to the short notice and forfeited their matches. Official scoresheets from Huntsville's match with Hazel Green on September 2nd were provided to the attending referees, so the Huntsville/Hazel Green match picked up where it left off on September 2 (3rd game with a score of 17-15). The final Huntsville/Hazel Green result for the 3 of 5 match reported to AHSAA resulted in a "win" for Huntsville (25-16, 15-25, 25-18, 25-17). 'Official scoresheets' from the previous Huntsville/Grissom match were not available so a new match was played to fulfill the 3 of 5 requirement. HHS won the match with Grissom (25-8, 25-13, 25-21). The end result of the matches continued/played on October 8th officially 'seeds' the teams for the Area 16 tournament.

Huntsville High - 1st seed
Grissom High - 2nd seed
Hazel Green High - 3rd seed
Buckhorn High - 4th seed
