State Champs!!!

Make it back to back and 8 of the last 9 for the Lady Panthers as they defeated Oak Mountain 3 games to 1 to claim another State Championship held Thursday, Oct 28, in Pelham, AL. The victory capped off a 47-5 record on the year. Congratulations to Kenzie Broome, Lindsey Wintzinger, and Jessica Lewis for being named to the All-Tournament Team. Area and Regional Champs!

The Lady Panthers continued their winning ways by sweeping to  championships in both the Area 16 and the Region D tournaments. In doing so the Lady Panthers advance to the substate tournament to be held this week.  

In the Area 16 tournament held at Huntsville High School, the Lady Panthers scored victories over both Sparkman, 3-0, and Grissom, 3-1, to take the championship.  In the Region D tournament held in Oxford, AL, the Lady Panthers defeated Pell City, 3-0, Bob Jones, 3-0, then Grissom, 3-2,  to claim the championship.

Congratulations to Elizabeth Bowen, Kenzie Broome, Becky Phelps, Lindsey Wintzinger, and Jessica Lewis being named to the All Area 16 team.

Lady Panthers Sweep to Blalock Tournament Championship

In their final warm up before Area Regionals this week the Lady Panthers cruised to an undefeated sweep at the Margaret Blalock Memorial Tournament held Oct 8/9 in Birmingham.  The Panthers went 5 and 0 for the tournament defeating McGill-Toolen 25-17, 25-18 in the championship.

Panthers Get Fall Break Wins 

The Lady Panthers were victorious in Fall Break matches against both Sparkman and Buckhorn taking both matches 3-0.  Next action will be this weekend in the Blalock Tournament to be held at Homewood High School.

Lady Panthers Head to Tampa with Road Win at Bob Jones

The Lady Panthers improved their overall record on the season to 27-2 with a 4 set victory at Bob Jones.  Scores were H-25 BJ-27, H-25 BJ-18, H-25 BJ-17, H-25 BJ-17.  Photos
 

Lady Panthers Ranked #1 in State and #15 in Nation

The Lady Panthers enter this week ranked #1 in the latest Birmingham News 6A poll and #15 nationally in the latest Max Preps Poll.  They'll also play the #1 ranked team in the country according to Max Preps, Berkley Prep (Tampa), this weekend in Tampa. 

HHS Panthers Sweep Grissom

The Lady Panthers avenged an earlier home loss to Grissom by sweeping the Tigers on their homecourt Sept 9,  H-25 G-17, H-25 G-20, H-26 G-24.  Huntsville Times Writeup

Panthers Victorious in Iron Man Tournament

Congratulations to the Lady Panthers for capturing their second straight Iron Man tournament held Aug 27-28 at Huntsville High School.  The Lady Panthers went undefeated in the tournament defeating McGill Toolen 25-17, 25-17 in the finals.  Huntsville Times Writeup : Tournament Scores

Panthers Claim Juanita Boddie Tournament

Congratulations to the Lady Panthers for winning the Juanita Boddie Tournament held Aug 20-21 at Hewitt-Trussville High School! The Lady Panthers went undefeated in the tournament defeating Grissom 21-25, 25-20, and 15-10 in the championship. Tournament Scores

Panthers Open Up With Tri-Match Split

HHS opened the season by splitting a tri-match at Huntsville High on Aug 19.  The Lady Panthers defeated Bob Jones, H-25 BJ-15 and H-25 BJ-23 in the first match, but later fell to Grissom, H-28 G-26, H-19 G-25, H-17 G-25, H-22 G-25.  Huntsville Times writeup

North-South All Star Match - July 15, 2010

Congratulations to Huntsville Senior Kenzie Broome who was named MVP for the North All-Stars after they downed the South All-Stars in 3 straight set at UAH.  

2010 Volleyball Fundraisers

Let the season begin! Help support the Huntsville High School Volleyball Team with its fund raisers for the season! Fund raising opportunities include a Mother's Day BBQ sale, a Father's Day BBQ sale, program advertisements, and corporate sponsorships. Contact an HHS Volleyball Player to order BBQ or purchase an ad or sponsorship. The HHS Volleyball Team and its 7-year State Championship winning coach, Melanie Donahoo, will also conduct its popular Skills Clinic for girls ages 8 to 13.
